important to note that it is not only purebred or pedigreed dogs that are affected by genetic disease.
Springtime
Although not as arduous for South Africans as our friends in northern climes, winter does reduce most of us to despair. We hate going outdoors, we lurk inside our homes wearing loads of jerseys, wrapping up in fleecy blankets, trying to climb into the heater and eating too much, and comforting ourselves that we will lose all this when summer comes. Humans and dogs can benefit from a spring-clean.
Are you listening?
Of all the species on earth the domestic dog is the one creature with the most diverse set of ears. In a room full of people pretty much everyone has the same ear; however dogs have at least five different types from the traditional canid prick ear, the large floppy ears of the Bassett Hound, the erect butterfly-shaped ears of the Papillon, to the tiny shell-like ones of Sharpei. These of course exclude the manually cropped ears of various breeds in countries which still permit cropping.

Worms and the health issues!
Dogs are victims of several internal parasites frequently referred to as worms. The most common are the roundworms that infest most puppies at some time in their young lives and tapeworms that can be a big problem when flea infestations are high.
